FOUNDER

William James is the founder and president of TeamHumanity Clothing Company, an active wear company whose mission is to sell quality goods and create meaningful, positive, social change in underserved communities.

Founded in 2013, in Brownsville, PA, TeamHumanity Clothing Company strives to unify and uplift the communities through clothing, collective action and community events. Also part of Mr. James’ clothing company is TeamHumanity Screen-Printing & Embroidery, a local youth employment operation designed to help level the playing field for disadvantaged youth by teaching them critical thinking and job-related skills and developing them personally and professionally.

Prior to Mr. James’ entrepreneurial endeavors, he was employed as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) where he spent ten years playing for the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers. Throughout his athletic career, Mr. James was awarded several honors, but the one most important to him was being crowned a National Champion while playing for the prestigious University of Michigan. Mr. James majored in political science with a minor in marketing while attending the University of Michigan.

Mr. James is driven to positively impact his community because of the struggles he has endured throughout his life. Mr. James is the product of a broken home and was dismissed from the University of Michigan and another college prior to his career in the NFL.

Most recently, Mr. James launched Verticals Community Learning Center in Brownsville, PA, and hosted a county wide Flag Football event as part of the TeamHumanity Games. The goal of the games, an annual event, is to foster camaraderie and responsibility in communities in and around Fayette County by challenging participants to work together, push, trust, and depend on one another, and learn to appreciate each other.

In his free time, Mr. James loves to read, write, travel the world and enjoy life with his beautiful wife, two sons and new born daughter.
